Originally from the state of Zacatecas, Tony predominantly creates rhythmic, romantic ballads, but also dance-ready adaptations of cumbia and Latin pop. From a young age, he was guided by his idols of romantic music to build the sound that now defines Angel del Amor.
FRANCISCO JAVIER GARCÍA
Vocalist · Songwriter
A native of San Luis Potosí, Francisco is a key part of the group with his angelic voice and his songwriting, in which the lyrics center on love, heartbreak, passion, and sentimental stories that resonate deeply.
They started out playing danceable rhythms at local parties. They recorded a demo and traveled to Monterrey to look for an opportunity on the radio and with record labels. They were signed by DLV, and also worked with Fonovisa, and began touring along the west coast of Mexico.
CAREER
International Success
DLV signed the group in 1993, and they relocated from Chicago to Nuevo León, where they recorded their first LP, Perdóname. Their first successful single was the title track.
They released major romantic hits including "Si Al Final Te Vas", "Besando Un Angel", "Lo Lindo De Nuestro Amor" and "Solo Mentiras".
Grupo Angel del Amor found major success on tour, sharing stages with groups like Los Temerarios, Conjunto Primavera, Banda El Recodo, and many others throughout the 1990s and the first decade of the 2000s.
